Jim Day – Music Ministry and Education
Jim’s family personifies “music” in the Portland area. With almost 100 years of family history representing major piano and organ manufacturers with Day Music, he has unprecedented knowledge of the market and the needs of churches. An accomplished church organist and composer, Jim currently teaches at Warner Pacific College and composes choral works, which are published by Belwin-Mills, HW Gray, and Roger Dean Publishing Company. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music from the University of Portland. He has studied with American Composers Jacob Avshalomov, and Paul Creston and was recently listed in the W.B. Henshow catalog of organists. Jim lives in Portland and is married with 3 children and 3 grandsons.
